&lt;p&gt;I liked Levine and Bolrin&#039;s &lt;em&gt;Intellectual Monopoly&lt;/em&gt; substitute term for IP. It better reflect what &quot;intellectual property&quot; is about - a monopoly to exploit a &quot;product&quot; of someone&#039;s intellect, granted by a government explicitly , for example patents, or implicitly (copyright).&lt;/p&gt;
