Barcamp, Amsterdam, over. It was an interesting time. A bunch of geeks coming from all over the plate got together to chat, discuss, brainstorm, share, fool around, hack, learn, teach, should I continue, no.
It was generally fulfilling. For me at least. First flock. I like this firefox based browser. The flock guys have the right ideas IMO. It is sleek, not really bigger than mom, has really nice tools like the blog editor, the shelf, the flickr topbar. You can sample del.icio.us on the fly. Mmm. Oh, yes, I'm writing this using flock. Waiting for the next developer preview. I wonder if we could do more to expose the various Drupal APIs so that they could be integrated into flock and firefox.
Jabber. These guys seriously seek world domination. They have interesting ideas, but I'm a bit sceptical about their VOIP or should I say MOIP. SIP seems a more natural choice for this. Anyway, let there be diversity and give the guys the benefit of the doubt.
And sharing. I don't want to think about it for a while. I have a feeling that there is too much foreign thoughts in my box and I might loose my identity. For example, how do you explore the egotistic web. How do you translate tag-spaces. How do you cook in a wok. How do you talk to artists who want a web monument. All this and more. Much more.
But barcamp is over, turn out the lights. Slip under the sheets and smile.
Oh, and don't forget to switch off the laptop. Save that rainforest.
