I like the originals, very much so. But I thought this might be an improvement on #3. Then again, it might be not. Not sure yet. Fair enough - it is a quick and dirty gimp job, but so what? it shows the idea. If need arises I can clean it and polish it. Things to do on the above:

• make sure the pipes connecting the centre are of equal length
• make sure the rightmost' pipe is just a touch longer than the leftmost one - assymetrical is good here
• try shorter 'central' pipes
• redo all pipes, so that they actually fit with the original, better even - redo the whole image, maybe in inkscape or similar
